Water Flames – Fire of Life

Water Flames—Fire of Life is done on handmade Japanese paper specifically created for my use with gold and platinum powders within a traditional Japanese method. The title and the image suggests a generative beginning, and is therefore appropriate for the first bottle of the 21 Grams series.
Fire is both representationally recognizable, and yet abstract at the same time; the mystery of such an image I hope will overlap with the nuance and potency of the wine itself.
